Every year, CES is jam-packed with TV-related announcements, and Samsung continues to be one of the show's most prominent TV manufacturers.
However, the Korean behemoth had a pleasant surprise in store for those in attendance: A variant of the SolarCell Remote that comes included with several of the company's televisions. It's a solar-powered TV remote that charges from the sun.
The updated version includes a more thrilling charging process that may also benefit your phone. That's because some of the Samsung TVs shown at CES in 2022 will include a SolarCell Remote, which varies based on radio frequencies emitted by devices such as Wi-Fi routers.
Samsung's new SolarCell TV remote resembles the previous model, but it features a solar panel on the back. As a result, the 2022 SolarCell TV remote will continue to recharge by gathering available light, thereby assisting you in conserving the environment. The batteries won't need to be replaced because they'll always get their power from the sun.
The 2022 SolarCell remote, on the other hand, includes innovative Samsung technology that allows it to harvest electricity from radio waves emitted by your Wi-Fi router. The device that provides internet to all of your home's internet-connected devices can also be used to recharge the SolarCell remote.
That may not appear intriguing at first, but it might be the type of innovation Samsung uses to bring long-distance wireless charging to smartphones and other devices. Other smartphone manufacturers have already demonstrated this type of real wireless charging technology.
