Though Okai's product selection includes a pair of ebikes among its electric kickscooters, they're more akin to e-mopeds than road or trail rides. With the CES 2022 debut of the EB20, an electric pedal-assist mountainbike, that's about to change.
The EB20 will be built around a sweet-looking carbon fiber frame with what appears to be LED accenting embedded in the curving top bar, as you can see from the supplied photographs. Though no overall weight has been revealed, the material choice is sure to contribute to a lightweight off-road ride.
A 750-W Bafang mid-mounted motor powers the e-MTB, with mentions of 250-W and 500-W models implying that sales will take place in nations with stricter ebike regulations than the United States.
Unlike many ebikes, which adjust motor help based on how fast the rider pedals, this model has a torque sensor that measures the force at the pedal, so the harder the rider pedals, the more motor assistance is delivered. There's also a 12-speed Shimano XT derailleur for more versatility.
