Tesla needs its electric vehicles on the streets to be the 'game-changer' of transportation, even as stock markets highlight the company's rise and popularity in the automobile market. As the year came to a close, Tesla came close to fulfilling this goal, shipping over a million units.
This is no minor feat, especially in the aftermath of the pandemic's worldwide economic crisis, when carmakers battled to get their hands on semiconductors. It's also a huge accomplishment for Tesla, which has nearly doubled its output in just a year. In 2020, the Texas-based corporation delivered just under 500,000 vehicles, with a total of 930,000 in 2021.
