Google Cloud is making some changes to its Google for Firms Cloud Program, which provides technical and logistical help to quickly developing startups, in order to attract more customers in an ultra-competitive industry.
"Over the past year, we’ve deepened our focus on helping startups scale and thrive in the cloud, including launching new resources and mentorship programs, hosting our first-ever Google Cloud Startup Summit, growing our team of startup experts, and more," says Ryan Kiskis, Director of Startup Ecosystem at Google Cloud.
The new modifications are nearly entirely aimed at businesses that are just getting started, when assistance can go a long way. Any Google-assisted firms who go on to be successful – which is a modest percentage given how startups operate – would almost certainly remember which cloud service helped them get there. Google Cloud is making some changes to its Google for Firms Cloud Program, which provides technical and logistical help to quickly developing startups, in order to attract more customers in an ultra-competitive industry.
To begin, the business is providing up to $100,000 in financial assistance to venture-backed startups to cover the first year of Cloud usage. This means that most entrepreneurs will be able to use Cloud for free, according to Google. Qualifying startups will be reimbursed for 20% of their consumption costs up to $100,000 in their second year.
Second, Google Cloud is expanding its Startup Success Team to include all qualified early-stage firms, giving them access to a network of peers as well as other resources and tools.
Finally, by providing fully managed, serverless Google Run, Firestore, and BigQuery, the company is allowing startups to focus on developing their products.
